FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Missional communities (MCs) are groups of people who chose to share life and live on mission together, with the common goal of helping those around them experience life in Jesus.

Our MCs are comprised of people in every stage of life, from young adults, to young families, to parents with adult children.

We believe that God made us for relationship, and to grow in community. We can’t wait for you to grow deeper in your faith and find spiritual family here!

  • MCs meet in homes around Sunbury and surrounding areas such as Galena and Centerburg – with more groups being added as we grow.

Want to start one? Contact hello@brightcitysunbury.com.

  • Most MCs gather weekly in someone’s home to eat a meal together, catch up on life, share their stories, and discuss what God is teaching them. They also create times to just have fun, bless their neighbors, or serve their local community by meeting practical needs though volunteer projects.

  • Many of our missional communities are in the homes of families with young kids and offer childcare. Others do not provide a babysitter, but kids are welcome to come. And others are more suited to adults only. Check with the MC leader if you’re not sure!

  • Absolutely! We want everyone to find a group where you connect best spiritually and relationally. Sometimes it takes more than one visit to find the right fit and we encourage you to take the time you need to find it.
