Week 05
Every Part Of Life

Jesus didn't invite people to simply believe in him. He invited them to follow him—to become his disciples, or apprentices, learning to live as he lived.

But following Jesus requires more than adding him to the life we've already decided to live. It means surrendering every part of our lives to his leadership—our relationships, finances, priorities, ambitions, habits, and desires.

Jesus teaches that the only way to find true life is to surrender the life we're trying to control. That kind of surrender isn't always easy, and it will cost us something. But Jesus is worth everything it costs to follow him.

The question for this week: Am I actually arranging my life around following Jesus, or am I simply trying to fit Jesus into the life I've already arranged?
