New Relationships

SPEAKER: Josh Taylor

PASSAGE: Ephesians 5:21–6:9

What does it look like when Jesus begins to reshape our most personal relationships—marriage, family, and work? In this episode, we explore how Paul in Ephesians challenges the social norms of his day with a revolutionary idea: submit to one another out of reverence for Christ (Eph. 5:21). Drawing from Roman social codes and infused with Gospel transformation, Paul doesn’t throw out his culture—he reimagines it under Christ’s lordship. This teaching reframes submission not as control or suppression, but as giving the best of ourselves in love—offering the Jesus in us to those around us. Discover how mutual submission, sacrificial love, and spiritual formation become the foundation for a new relational code. A code not built on power, but on partnership. You can build an empire with hierarchy, but you can only build a Kingdom with Christ.
